brook - guitar \n\nMary Halvorson - guitar \n\nJonathan Goldberger- guitar
\, baritone guitar \n\nVinnie Sperrazza - drums \n\n\n\nTen years after th
e album “Ye Olde”\, Jacob Garchik—also known for his collaborations with L
ee Konitz\, the Mingus Big Band\, the Kronos Quartet\, or Gogol Bordello—f
ollowed up last year with “Ye Olde 2: At the End of Time”. Shortly before
his 50th birthday\, the San Francisco-born\, New York-based trombonist pre
sents his pleasantly apocalyptic ensemble-music—complex\, intense\, and ag
itated\, as befits music for the end of time—live at the Saalfelden Jazz F
estival. The fact that the high-caliber original lineup from the first alb
um will be performing—featuring all three of its virtuoso guitarists: Mary
Halvorson\, Brandon Seabrook\, and Jonathan Goldberger—speaks volumes not
only about the enterprising bandleader but\, above all\, about his compos
itions. 'One Can Only Go Up'\, as the opening track is aptly titled.
